Tulsi Gabbard, Hawaii's Congressional representative gets married in Honolulu.

It was a big day for Rep. Tulsi Gabbard. The Congresswoman married Abraham Williams, a 26-year-old cinematographer, in a ceremony in Windward Oahu. The Hindu Vedic ceremony took place at the Pohai Ke Aloha Pavilion and Garden at the historic Kahaluu Fishpond. It concluded with a traditional yoga kirtan with friends and family celebrating the newly married couple with song and dance.

Gabbard met Williams when he worked on her campaign. “A little over a year ago, when he first asked me out, we had a chance to just talk story, hang out, chill out for a little bit. What I saw was somebody who is not only my friend, but somebody who is genuinely kind and a good person who every day I see him put other people before himself,” Gabbard previously told KHON2. Gabbard says she will be keeping her last name and Hawaii will always be the couple’s primary home.

Tulsi Gabbard is one only 2 Samoans in the US Congress and they are both women. Amata Radewagon represents American Samoa however she is a Republican while Tulsi is a Democrat.

We here at Le Malae wish the new couple congratulations on their wedding which was celebrated after the Hindu religion which Tulsi adopted as her mother had before her.
